WILLIAM T. GUNN III
Mr. William Gunn has been in the Real Estate industry over 40 years.
Mr. Gunn received his BS in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1963. He served in the Navy on various ships in the Persian Gulf, the Mediterranean, and off the coast of Vietnam. Upon his departure from the Navy he furthered his education by earning his MBA, Cum Laude in Finance (class of 1970) from Southern Methodist University’s Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Gunn began his real estate career as a Development Partner with The Trammell Crow Company in Dallas. During his 7-year tenure with Trammell Crow, Mr. Gunn successfully developed numerous residential lots, warehouses, office buildings, and the Dallas Regional Federal Post Office.
He left The Trammell Crow Company in 1976 to further his real estate development career on his own. He has been mostly active in Texas where he has developed over $525 million in residential, multifamily, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects. He also has extensive experience in the construction industry, building multifamily, retail, warehouses, schools, and residential homes.
He is widely considered an expert in creating and implementing Municipal Utility Districts in both urban and new high-growth residential development areas. His MUD knowledge and expertise is sought by many development officials throughout the United States.
The Gunn family has always been active contributors of both money and time to the various civic and cultural offerings in the Austin area. Both of their children attended St. Stephens School. After graduating college and law school on the east coast, they returned to Austin and are active participants in the cultural and civic activities in their home town.
